Jennifer's Annual Clean Up

World's Fair Marina

Please join the Empire Dragons in partnership with the Guardians of Flushing Bay, Billion Oyster Project, Riverkeeper, and the NYC Parks Department as we work together to clean up the Flushing Bay shoreline. Additional participants include Reclypt and other stewardship organizations!

Join the cleanup, experience paddling in a dragon boat, learn about green infrastructure initiatives and continue the legacy spearheaded by Jennifer Merendino, one of Empire’s founder

Accessible by subway: Take the 7 train to Mets-Willets Point Station and walk past CitiField to the marina. Please dress appropriately. Do not wear open toe shoes, sandals, or flip-flops. Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to Covid-19. Join a community dragon boat paddle on the bay during clean up! All participants must sign liability waiver and parent/legal guardian must be present to register and sign waiver for minors under 18 years old.

We're headed to France!

Empire had an exciting 2019 season and placed First at the Eastern Regional Dragon Boat Championship, Breast Cancer Survivor Division. Through this qualifying win, Empire will compete in the International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championship to be held in Aix-les-Bains, France.
